A position paper is intended to set forth the official position of the general membership of the Electronic Security Associationon on some particular issue or subject. It is not intended to be a thorough, ideological statement nor a complete study on a particular issue.

The purpose of such a position paper is to enable the Electronic Security Association to make a statement to itself, the electronic security community or the world in general on a subject of recurring interest or one on which there is current compelling interest.

Positions papers are first introduced in a preliminary form to an ESA Standing Committee for review. Upon approval by the committee the position paper is presented to the Executive Committee for review and comment. Before being adopted as the official position of the association on a particular issue, the position paper must receive final approval from the ESA Board of Directors.
