Industry Awards Require Your Involvement

Posted By Dave Simon, Monday, October 31, 2011

Isn't it always easier to say, "Someone else will take care of it.” Well, if everyone said that, nothing would ever get done.

Sometimes we feel that way about the nominating process for awards in the electronic security industry. Various awards are great feathers in the cap for businesses and individuals. Awards recognize achievements and demonstrate best practices. They also are selling points to be used in attracting future customers and retaining your current ones.

But a lot of people wait for "someone else to take care of it.” With that attitude, many companies or individuals might never get nominated for an award they deserve. That's why we want you to think about the people you know in our industry, and set aside some time to nominate a colleague or friend for two awards to be given at the ESA Summit in January.

The "Leadership Awards” and "Best Practice Awards” shine the light on standouts in our state chapters, and on individual business practices, respectively. There are multiple categories under the banner for each award, so you have opportunities to single out someone or a business/company that has demonstrated special qualities this past year in the electronic security industry.

Entries are now open for both these awards. Go to

Without your nominations, we won't have any awards. So check out the site, think about who you know that stands out, and give them the recognition they deserve.
