Where there's a boom, there's a burglar

Posted By Dave Simon, Tuesday, May 08, 2012

Security companies have moved into North Dakota and now Montana as the oil boom explodes in the western part of the state. It’s a smart decision, as crime often follows on the footsteps of rapid change.

It’s called the "wild west” for a reason. As the population quickly shifts, some of the ties that bind and protect a community become shattered. In North Dakota and Montana, the population has grown quickly, outstripping local services. Unfortunately, shady characters often follow legitimate newcomers, seeking to capitalize on instability in housing, police protection and other services that are either inadequate or can’t keep up with a massive population influx. Sometimes property crime goes up. Houses, cars and small businesses are broken into as crooks find they can get away more quickly and easily in a shifting community.

That’s where electronic security companies come to the rescue. We provide the technology and protection these towns can use to more effectively prevent home and business property theft. We know of companies from Minnesota who have crossed into North Dakota to set up shop and use their expertise to protect these communities in flux.

We salute their forward thinking. Companies that understand burglars and follow a business boom will find markets for their products and services. Keep your eyes peeled, and be willing to travel.
