Embrace Mobile Technology to Enhance Your Services

Americans are embracing portable device technology with open arms. In early 2012, it was reported that nearly 50 percent of Americans own a smartphone and nearly 20 percent own a tablet. We’ve already talked about how iPads can improve your sales presentation, but now we’re focused on how technology within these devices can help you garner more customers and enhance the level of service for your existing customers.

This technology is known as mobile applications or more commonly referred to as apps. By creating an app specific to your company and offerings, you can attract tech-savvy customers; enhance the services for your existing customers; and add dollars to your bottom line. While younger generations have begun to utilize apps, many people from older generations will begin to make the smartphone switch in the upcoming years.

To fully communicate the benefit of this type of technology to customers that are new to mobile apps, it’s important that you take the time to thoroughly train your sales team in the service. As we move into the brave new world of ever-more-mobile applications, it’s incumbent on us to learn what these mobile apps are and know the ins and outs before we sell them to our customers. Develop your expertise and those of your employees before taking the next step with apps.
