Consumer Study Reveals Advantages in Promoting Professionalism, Experience

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) found in a recent study that consumers want professionals to install their home security systems. In fact, customers select security as the most important reason they purchase a home "control” system, which can include audio, video, climate control or lighting.

That’s great news for ESA companies. It means that customers seek us out for the professionalism we provide. They want us to install and service their systems – not do it themselves – which means our experience is respected.

It’s a super selling point. Use your professionalism as an advantage when you talk to a prospective customer. Be sure to emphasize the fact that your installers are specifically trained for their jobs and that they meet the licensing requirements in your state.

The CEA study revealed that 67 percent of consumers not only want a professionally installed home system, but also are looking for home control that doesn’t require multiple individual apps for each subsystem. That speaks to simplicity. Consumers want an easily explained system without too many complications.

This gives you an opportunity to leverage your experience. Find out what your customers want. Deliver their apps in smaller doses that can be easily mastered. Your customers will be happier with their systems and hopefully, tell others about their experience. And, as we know, word of mouth is the best advertising!
