AIREF Golf Classic provides excellent day on the greens

Posted By Bob Ogle, Tuesday, April 03, 2012
AIREFThe Alarm Industry Research and Educational Foundation (AIREF) held its ninth annual Golf Classic on March 27 at Revere Golf Club in Las Vegas, and -- as usual -- the event was the perfect mixture of fun and fund-raising. Big thank-yous go to the event organizing team, including leader Pat Shea Remes, as well as her husband, David; her daughter, Alix; ESA Vice President for Membership and Chapter Relations Amy Kirk; ESA Events Manager Michelle Whitaker; and ESA Business Development Manager Jaclyn Sion.

Major sponsors included: Honeywell Security, the $25,000 Morris F. Weinstock Sponsor; ADI, ISC West and TriEd/Northern Video, the $10,000 Sara E. Jackson Sponsors; and a number of $5,000 sponsors, including ADT, Altronix, NAPCO,
Interlogix, Honeywell Fire and Security America RRG.

The event followed a "shamble format," a combination of scramble and best ball. Prize-winners included:

  • Low-gross team: Mike Fischer, David Pakech, Mike Venoit and Charlie Gallardo of Honeywell Fire Group, with an amazing score of 40.0.
  • Second-place: Mike Harrington, Oz Lerma, Travis Miller and Curtis Kindred of Team Monitronics (46.0).
  • Third-place: Paul Hoey, Jimmy Corbett, Tom Ferry and Dean Kerns of Team NAPCO (49.0)
  • Longest drive: Mike Harrison, Monitronics.
  • Closest to the Line: Jim Zirbel, Capital Fire & Security.
  • Closest to the Pin: Oz Lerma, Monitronics (No. 4); John Milliron, AES Intelli-Net (No. 8); Jason Grelle, Safe Security (No. 13); and Curtis Kindred, American Defense Systems (No. 17).
  • Winner of the 50-50 raffle: Rob Soto, DSC.

Many thanks to our sponsors, including Honeywell Security, the $25,000 Morris F. Weinstock Sponsor; ADI, ISC West and TriEd/Northern Video, the $10,000 Sara E. Jackson Sponsors; and a number of $5,000 sponsors, including ADT, Altronix, NAPCO, Interlogix, Honeywell Fire and Security America RRG. A full list appears below:
