ESA Gives Back: Making a Difference Beyond the Electronic Security Industry

ESA Gives Back is an ongoing program that engages association leadership, members, and staff in supporting charitable and philanthropic initiatives. We are fortunate to be part of special industry whose generosity has benefited many in need. The mission of ESA Gives Back is to contribute to these efforts and positively impact the world around us by:

• Joining our members’ and chapters’ existing charitable efforts

• Creating opportunities for individual giving

• Contributing ESA funds to these great causes

For its inaugural fundraiser, ESA accepted personal and corporate donations during ESX Nashville to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. One of the reasons ESA selected this charity to support that it is just one way we can honor our immediate past president, Dom D’Ascoli, whose term ended June 30, 2012. As a veteran himself, Dom is a proud supporter of our country’s military heroes, particularly those who have been injured. By supporting the Wounded Warrior Project, we are not only honoring our service men and women, but also saying thank you to Dom for his many contributions to our association.

The Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, whose purpose is to raise awareness and to enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members; to help injured servicemen and women aid and assist each other; and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.

Established in 2003, WWP began by providing comfort items to wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq and has grown into a complete rehabilitative effort to assist warriors as they recover and transition back to civilian life. Tens of thousands of wounded warriors and their caregivers receive support each year through Wounded Warrior Project programs, uniquely structured to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment and engagement.
