ESA Gives Back Selects Mission 500 as Recipient of Charitable Efforts in 2014

Posted By Administration, Wednesday, February 19, 2014

Mission 500 has been selected as the official charity of ESA Gives Back for 2014. ESA Gives Back is the association’s charitable and philanthropic program.

The initiative's kickoff began at the recent Leadership Summit in Orlando, where attendees participated in an on-site project filling backpacks with school supplies for children in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area who desperately need them. Dallas was chosen because of its proximity to ESA headquarters in Irving, Texas.

The project was a perfect fit with the goal of Mission 500, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the needs of children and communities in crisis. It is connected with World Vision, a humanitarian organization which has been helping children, families and communities worldwide.

"The security industry has traditionally worked closely with Mission 500 in support of its goals,” said ESA Executive Director Merlin Guilbeau. "We felt like the project would be a natural fit for our efforts this year, and we’re honored to play a part.”

Leadership Summit was just the beginning of the efforts by ESA Gives Back. The initiative will continue during the next several months, including the Electronic Security Expo (ESX). Previous ESA Gives Back charities have included the Wounded Warrior Project (2012) and the Warrior Dog Foundation (2013).
