Posted By Administration, Thursday, October 17, 2013

Sharing Business Intelligence for Growing Companies is the theme of the upcoming Leadership Summit because, this year, we’re focusing on providing content you can’t get anywhere else. The Leadership Summit in Orlando, Fla., January 19-23, 2014 will offer principles and practices you can directly apply to your organization and business.

In a few short days, you’ll have unprecedented opportunities to learn and will be given applicable takeaways that you can start using the moment you get home. If you’ve been wondering whether or not to attend, take a moment to read through the schedule of keynote speakers and then make your plans to attend. Click here to see the entire schedule.

Monday, January 20 — Lunch
Race for Relevance: 5 Radical Changes for Associations
Mary Byers, CAE

Co-author of The Race for Relevance, Mary Byers, CAE, will present a thought-provoking program during which she will present changes that will energize and reposition associations and businesses for better performance and include case studies to bring theory to life. Attendees will benefit from hearing an experienced association consultant and facilitator with 22 years of experience who specializes in best practices. She will give attendees plans for implementation and next steps they can apply to their associations and businesses. This general session is sponsored by Security America Risk Retention Group and will also feature the highly anticipated annual ESA Leadership Awards and time dedicated for attendees to spend with sponsors during the vendor showcase.

Tuesday, January 21 — Breakfast
Adapting Your Team for Growth in Changing Times
Ted Powell

Ted Powell, an expert consultant and facilitator with more than 18 years of experience conducting high-impact leadership seminars, will provide a keynote address on how businesses can adapt to the changing times and position their teams for growth. During the session, he will share his effective change management techniques. In addition, attendees will be provided with a copy of his proprietary ‘change curve’ model, along with a step-by-step process for using the model to formulate agreements on how the team will most effectively embrace and drive change. The Tuesday Morning Breakfast General Session is sponsored by Altronix and will allow attendees to spend valuable time with all Summit sponsors at their tables as well as during the vendor showcase portion of the breakfast.

Tuesday, January 21 — Lunch
Residential Cyber Security — A Growth Opportunity
Expert panel discussion moderated by David Pedigo, CEDIA

Be prepared! One of the home technology industry's most talked about issues in today’s mainstream media involves potential security flaws in internet-connected home automation systems. The threat to the consumer is real and growing. There are however, steps that can be taken to significantly improve your clients’ safety within their "smart home” to help protect their digital security and privacy. The luncheon is sponsored by Interlogix and will also feature the Morris F. Weinstock Person of the Year presentation.

Wednesday, January 22 — Breakfast
Strategies for Building and Managing High Performing Sales Teams
Steve Bookbinder

Steve Bookbinder believes selling is harder today than it has ever been. One reason is because there are more competitors – traditional and non-traditional – creating more chatter and making it harder to get customers to focus. In his keynote, sponsored by Telguard, Bookbinder will focus on the importance of having a sales culture of responsibility, based on a strong sales pipeline management process. He will include both a strategic approach to sales as well as some of the tactics needed to be effective in sales and sales management. He’ll also provide key takeaways that include what your sales pipeline should look like; how to build the ideal pipeline; the "right prospects”; first appointments and the 25%, 50%, 90% Prospect Management System; and how to set your expectations and know your sales cycle.

Wednesday, January 22 — Lunch
National Security Since 9/11: A Personal Perspective
Major General Doug Anson (ret.)

As the keynote speaker during a full general session luncheon, retired Major General Doug Anson will share his thoughts on the evolution of national security since 9/11 and the effect these events have had on him, his family and the nation. Anson has had the privilege of serving our country in several capacities – in uniform on the battlefield, in the hallways of the Pentagon, and as a science and technology manager at a national security laboratory. The luncheon, sponsored by Honeywell, will also feature the ESA of Florida Annual Meeting and the Sara E. Jackson Memorial Award presentation.
