ESA hosted its annual Day on Capitol Hill April 17-18, 2012, in Washington, D.C. Members from across the country gathered collectively to meet with their congressional representatives and staffs to discuss critical issues to the security industry and public safety. ESA members visited 33 Senate offices, 83 House offices, and heard presentations from representatives from three of the more powerful committees in the House of Representatives (Ways and Means, Armed Services, and Judiciary). From all accounts, the event was a success, and the seeds planted on Capitol Hill will bear fruit in the coming months.
More than 50 members took part in the event, representing 20 states. Whether you're a long-time participant or a first-time attendee, we hope you found the event to be not only professionally rewarding, but enjoyable and entertaining as well. It was the perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends, and connect with new ones.
Attendees enjoyed several networking and social events at this two-day gathering.
