Security Industry Experts demonstrate technologies that address safety and security in schools. ESA (Electronic Security Association) National "Electronic Security Guidelines for Schools" is presented.

Addressing the vital issue of school safety, Safety Technologies of Middleburg Heights has assembled a panel of security industry experts to present technologies currently being deployed that aid in maintaining a secure environment. The systems that will be demonstrated and offered as a case study provide comprehensive measures that ensure the safety of our students, faculty and staff. These cutting-edge solutions are being implemented locally and are influencing national directives.

  • Addressing external & internal threats (the most likely emergency situations involving "active threats" are from students who already are in the school or have access to the school)
  • Layers of protection: Outer perimeter, building perimeter, interior spaces and the different technologies specific to each area

  • How to secure allocated casino funding, government grants and funding through public/private partnerships
  • The use of Electronic Security as part of an overall Security Plan, based on Security Survey conducted to identify threats
  • Scaling and future planning

A Case Study featuring an unprecedented partnership between the City of North Olmstead and its schools and their plan to install a Mesh Network will be presented.

      National School Safety Initiative Guidelines Now Available!

      In an effort to establish a unified, comprehensive solution in addressing the safety and security within our schools, the Electronic Security Association recently formed a task force comprised of leaders within the security industry. Together, they developed a set of guidelines, The Electronic Security Guidelines for Schools, which was approved by ESA's Executive Committee.
