Join ESA-FL for the 2013 State Legislative Dinner

Evening Agenda 

6:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.  Networking Happy Hour 
7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.   Dinner
7:30 p.m. Guest Speaker- Senator Anitere Flores

Senator Flores will discuss the business climate and regulations in Florida.

All attendees must RSVP by September 18, 2013!

The event is FREE to registrants. (Includes Valet Parking.)

Suggested Dress Code: Business Casual. Denim is permitted at the Tower Club. Denim may not be faded or torn. Casual attire such as shorts, sweat suits, jogging/tennis attire, sneakers, flip-flops and other casual shoes (unless worn for medical reasons) is discouraged. Guests dressed inappropriately may be turned away and are asked to use discretion and dress accordingly.

State Senator Anitere Flores

District 37, Miami-Dade County

Senator Anitere Flores represents Senate District 37, which includes Sweetwater, Westchester, Kendall, Country Walk and portions of Southwest Miami-Dade County. After law school, Senator Flores was hired by the Florida House of Representatives to work on the Education Council, and later worked for Governor Jeb Bush as his Education Policy Chief. Prior to being elected a State Representative, she spent two years advocating for university students in her district as Director of State Relations for Florida International University.

During her career in the Florida House, Senator Flores served as Deputy Majority Leader, Chair of the PreK-12 Appropriations Committee, and Chair of the PreK-12 Policy Committee.

As a member of the Florida Senate, Senator Flores is the Chair of the Senate Communications, Energy, and Public Utilities Committee, Vice-Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services and she sits on several other committees including Regulated Industries.

Senator Flores also serves on various national and community boards and is now President of Doral College, a recently established accelerated college program.

During her public career Senator Flores has received many honors and awards including:

  • Associated Industries of Florida, Champion for Business Award, 2009
  • Florida Chamber of Commerce, Distinguished Advocate Award, 2009
  • Association of Builders and Contractors, Legislator of the Year Award, 2009
  • Florida Home Builders Association, Friend of House "A” Award, 2008
  • Association of Builders and Contractors (ABC), Friend of Free Enterprise Award, 2006
