2010 ESA Leadership Summit Huge Success
More than 230 attendees show support for their association, industry and business

Irving, Texas, January 19, 2010 – At their first event since voting for a name change, Electronic Security Association (ESA) members from across the nation enthusiastically supported the 2010 ESA Leadership Summit in Fort Worth, Texas, Jan. 12 – 14. Three days of meetings, seminars, networking receptions and an awards dinner were planned for more than double the number of attendees over last year’s event.

A highlight of the 2010 Leadership Summit was the Leadership Awards dinner, emceed by Ron Davis of Davis Marketing Group, where guests gathered at the Fort Worth City Club for an evening of surprises. Awards presented during the dinner included 2010 Chapter of the Year won by the Arizona Alarm Association; Chapter Executive Director of the Year won by Gwen Clavell of the Louisiana Life Safety and Security Association; Chapter President of the Year won by Maria Malice from the Arizona Alarm Association; Don Childers, winner of NTS Instructor of the Year; Newsletter of the Year, InSecurity, produced by the Arizona Alarm Association; and NTS Training Coordinator of the Year won by John Yusza from Connecticut.

Included as part of ESA business was the unveiling of the new, much-anticipated ESA logo by Public Relations Committee chair, Dave Simon of Broadview Security. Another highlight included a breakfast presentation by John Galante of AE Ventures regarding the new 2011 Leadership Summit format which will consist of a two-day hosted event followed by two days of traditional summit activities including association meetings, seminars and networking events.

Overall corporate sponsorship for the summit was provided by GE Security, with Honeywell providing sponsorship for the awards dinner, SARRG and Diebold sponsoring the Wednesday breakfast, ADI sponsoring Wednesday’s lunch, and Altronix sponsoring the Chapter Appreciation reception.

Committee and board of directors meetings and the Young Security Professionals meeting were also features of the summit. Educational seminars targeting social media, non-dues revenue and 2010 megatrends rounded out the three-day event.
