ESA Sends Two Representatives to Major Security Event
Technology, Preparedness Highlight Agenda at IASIR Conference in Virginia

Irving, Texas, Oct. 25, 2011The Electronic Security Association (ESA) will be well represented at the International Association of Security and Investigative Regulators (IASIR) conference, scheduled for Nov. 2 – 4 at the Crowne Plaza Old Town in Alexandria, Va.

Attending on behalf of ESA will be Government Relations Director John Chwat, and Karen Maples, Regulatory Compliance and Licensing Manager for Stanley Security Systems in Indianapolis and vice-president of ESA’s Chartered Chapter in Indiana.

IASIR’s membership is made up of state and provincial government regulators of the private security, investigation and alarm industries, as well as law enforcement and industry members from across North America (and increasingly, other parts of the world). The annual conference focuses on collaboration between these groups to enhance public safety by promoting professionalism through effective regulation.

IASIR conferences have a long-established track record of offering important program sessions and networking opportunities. New technology – both the opportunities and dangers – will be examined through sessions on protecting the justice system from cyber-attacks, the state-of-the-art Next Generation Identification Program slated to replace IAFIS, and use of social media and flash mobs to commit crimes.

This conference, which is sponsored in conjunction with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, will also highlight risk assessment and emergency preparedness. It includes presentations on extremist threats to government and non-governmental organizations, the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Initiative, and an update on the Emergency Services Sector Coordinating Council’s Crisis Re-entry Initiative.

More information, including the agenda, conference registration, hotel reservations and transportation information are all available on the website at www.iasir.org. For more information, contact the IASIR office at (888) 354-2747 (toll-free) or email contact@iasir.org.
