Federal Overtime Regulations Impact All Businesses
New overtime regulations issued by the U.S. Department of Labor raise the salary threshold for employees who are exempt from overtime pay from $23,660 to $47,476. ESA, as the voice of the industry, opposed the issuing of these overtime rules due to its effects on businesses. Congress has been divided in its response to these regulations, including a difference of approach within the business community.

Industry Loses A Pioneer
Electronic security and door hardware legend, Arthur V. Geringer died Sept. 5 at the age of 93. Geringer was a door hardware innovator and pioneered the design and practical application of electricity to door openings for security, fire, and life safety.
