Fire Alarm Installation Methods

This 14-hour course is ideal for individuals seeking to expand their knowledge of the installation, service and maintenance of fire alarm systems. It provides the necessary review material to prepare for NICET Level 1 and 2 examinations. This course follows the structure of NFPA 72 and is based on the latest edition of NFPA 72 and NFPA 70. The course concludes with a two-hour examination.

Certifications available: Two certifications available. Individuals holding a Certified Alarm/Security Technician - Level I certification for a minimum of 24 months, and who successfully complete the Advanced Intrusion Systems course and the Fire Alarm Installation Methods course are eligible for certification as a Certified Alarm Technician Level II – formerly known as an Advanced Alarm Technician.Individuals holding a Certified Alarm/Security Technician - Level I certification for a minimum of 12 months, and who successfully complete this course and the Life Safety Code course, are eligible for certification as a Certified Fire Alarm Technician.

  • Teaches the code knowledge and practical technical skills you need to design, install and maintain fire alarm systems that comply with NFPA 72 (2011 edition) and NFPA 70 (2008 edition).
