IT Applications Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Maintains company informational systems, including online business applications, server/network environment, database, and security monitoring system, to ensure stability, compliance and accurate information is available 24/7 to support all operations. Recommends methods and processes to improve and expand system functionalities, and operational and communication efficiencies.

Reports to Vice President of Finance and Administration. Works independently with minimal supervision; supports internal staff and external volunteers, members, instructors, and state industry leaders, as well as third party vendors.

Primary Responsibilities
Manage online business applications, supporting core business
  o   Become expert in online business applications, managing core business functions

  o   Validate post-production changes and accurately push to production

  o   Maintain data integrity, system testing and documentation of business processes and procedures

  o   Assist in migrations from existing application versions to latest application versions, including configuration

  o   Create and Manage Reports

-  Perform requirements analysis, query optimization and table normalization

-  Create SQL queries for relational databases

-  Build graphical, text-based, and custom reports for all departments

  o   Use online workflow tools to automate business processes

  o   Act as lead in supporting membership department in creating and maintaining written operating procedures, billing processes and create, maintain and produce month-end membership reports

  o   Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and track metrics necessary for monitoring data quality

  o   Train staff on functionality and use of applications, databases, office equipment and software, as needed

  o   Work with staff to outline and schedule department needs regarding database functionalities, data analytics and reporting

  o   Produce various custom reports as requested

  o   Assist and coordinate with departments in maintaining company websites

IT Support
  o   Desktop Support

-  Support PC hardware & software

-  Provide help desk support to staff on hardware and software issues

  o   Network / Server Support

-  Make sure all information is protected and backed-up

-  Address LAN/WAN connectivity issues and investigate/resolve file server problems

-  Manage hardware inventories, network/server storage capacity, IT security, software inventory, licenses and installation

-  Support end-user administration of telecom systems

Qualification Requirements
  o   Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or equivalent work experience and certifications in database management and/or information systems

  o   Minimum 5-7 years of related database experience

  o   Proficient to Expert knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Outlook Exchange Server, relational database management systems and VOIP systems

  o   Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills dealing with staff, members and third parties

  o   Self-starter, ability to work independently, prioritize with attention to detail, and manage projects to deadlines

Required Skills
  o   Strong analytical and organizational skills

  o   Eye for detail and accuracy

  o   Ability to understand business needs

  o   Strategic experience in enhancing and improving operational efficiencies

  o   Understanding and proven experience in structured query language (SQL)

  o   Knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS)

  o   Up-to-date knowledge of technology

Preferred Experience

  o   Working with non-profit and/or associations, within a membership structure, with volunteers and volunteer leadership

  o   Expert level knowledge with association management systems

  o   Involvement in systems migration and new implementation initiatives across company functions
